I recently upgraded my Yamaha Pacifica 112 guitar with DiMarzio pickups and I thought a detailed report on the project here.

So, here is a step-by-step account on how to remove the stock pickups and installing new pickups on a Stratocaster guitar, kind of based on how I installed the central Dimarzio pickups (Super Distortion DP100 Bridge DP116 HS-2: DP217 YJM: neck) on my Strat-clone. Here you go!

First loosen the strings, but not remove them fromVertebrae. If it is large enough, the neck to loosen the screws and gently pry the neck from the body.

* This saves time when creating everything back together, using the same strings. On the other hand, if you want to delete, insert new strings anyway, so just the strings and not bothering to remove the neck.

After the second side of the neck, take the "Volume", "sound" and switch caps. Once removed, the volume pot, tone pot and selector switch canwill now be removed from the pickguard.

Third Remove the pickguard screws.

Fourth Release from the stock pickups pickguard.

Fifth order to completely eliminate the stock pickups in search of three cards with the switch are connected when a stock pick-up 3. If found, de-Lot 3 "hot" wire of the stock pickups.

* Before desoldering try to remember or label, for which the body is relaxed (bridge, middle or neck).

De-solder the sixth floorLines 3 stock pickups from the back of the volume control.

* It now has the pickups are in isolation. Set it aside, and keep in a box for safety.

Seventh Connect the pickup replacement, their positions in the pickguard.

8th Check the wiring diagram for the color coding of the new pickup. Normally, the new Dimarzios 5 wires with the following colors: red, green, black, white and bare wire. (For me, I have the full humbucker* Cable range for all three Dimarzio pickups). Weld ends of the wires blacks and whites together then wrapped with tape.

Solder the ninth green and bare wires together, then welded directly into the back of the volume control on the ground. Be sure to use a higher power soldering iron (> 45 watts), to maintain the lead for soldering and a good connection.

10th Solder the red hot wire from collection to their corresponding position in the selectorSwitch flag as in step # 5.

11 Repeat steps # 9 and # 10 for the other two pickups.

* After all the welding work, you must perform a visual inspection of all welds. All connections must be secure and solid.

12 ° Replace the "Volume" pot pot tone "and go to their place. Be sure to tighten the screws. Re-place the pots and switch covers.

13 Re-place and attached to the pickguard screwsThe guitar body. You can check for stray wires protrude. All lines must remain inside the guitar cavity.

14th Reconnect the neck of the guitar body neck joint and then the screw.

Where to go. Just a simple 14-step process anyone can do at home. Hope this helps!
