I bought this soley for homebrewing and it works like a charm. Nothing fancy but a solid piece of kitchen equiptment nonetheless. I'm sure it would do just fine for making soups and stocks as well.

To begin with, I purchased this Stock Pot for brewing beer. With that being said, it is an ideal piece of kitchen equipment for any novice to intermediate homebrewer. The pot came very quickly, a day early actually, in less than desirable condition. It is somehow dirty (inside and out) and the lid doesn't actually fit snuggly on over the top of the pot.

However, as stated in the title, this is a 12.99 pot. Compared to the rest of the stainless steel stock pots on Amazon, this is a great deal for a 4 gallon one. Therefore, the pros outweigh the cons.

If you're buying this Stock Pot for homebrewing or basic kitchen needs (boiling large quantities of water, etc.) then this is just fine and it is recommended as a good deal.

This stock pot is made well. I needed a pot that I could fit king crab legs into without having to bend them. This works well for that, however, it takes a very long time for the water to heat up. Since this is a very tall pot, I only need to fill the pot up 3/4 of the way to accomodate the crab legs.
